Exclusive Color Die Cast Muscle Cars! WDBB 7/29/10

We recently purchased a collection consisting mostly of American Muscle 1/18 scale die cast.  The previous owner collected a little bit of everything American Muscle had to offer in the 90's.  I chose a couple of what I thought were unique cars from the collection that we don't see all the time.

If you are into  unique limited edition die cast be on the lookout for these cars coming across the virtual auction block very soon!  Thank you for checking out our videos and happy bidding!

UPDATE: 7/29/10

First of all I would like to apologize for being an idiot!  Thank you to DetourDave for correcting my mistakes from the video.  While American Muscle did indeed make several die cast in exclusive color that were not available on the actual production cars this was not the case for the cars featured in this week's video.  After doing some more research these cars do indeed appear to be Toys R Us exclusive releases and the color on the die cast was originally available on the factory cars or by special order.

Please accept my apologies and we encourage all to leave comments if we are ever incorrect.  After all we are human and make mistakes.  I by no means consider myself an expert.  Now here is Dave's comment that explains in detail the releases featured in the video:

Just to clarify...I've been collecting 1/18-scale die cast for well over a decade and "Exclusive Die cast Color" didn't necessarily mean a color that wasn't available from the factory. It was "Exclusive" to the 3rd party company that commissioned that particular release. These stickers are commonly found on Toys R Us Exclusives. The 70 Chevelle SS appears to be Hugger Orange with white stripes. Hugger Orange was a special order color available on the Chevelle in 1970. This model was a TRU Exclusive issued in 1998. Also, the 1970 Shelby GT500 convertible is painted in Grabber Green, which was a Ford factory color that particular year. This was another TRU Exclusive issued in 2001. As for the Challenger, it's hard to tell, but it appears to be the Go Mango 70 Challenger that was produced for TRU in 2001. Again, Go Mango was a Mopar factory color.

I hope this helps clarify the "Exclusive Diecast Color" stickers on these boxes.
